Arrow Electronics announces a major executive leadership update. The global technology giant appoints Deidra C. Merriwether to a new executive position. Effective September 8, 2026, she assumes the role of President and Chief Operating Officer.
In this position, Merriwether reports directly to William F. Austen, interim Chief Executive Officer. She now leads Arrow Electronics’ global business segments and supply chain infrastructure. Furthermore, this strategic appointment enhances senior leadership capabilities and reinforces succession plans.

Merriwether brings extensive operational leadership expertise from top multinational corporations. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at W.W. Grainger, Inc. since 2021.
Earlier in her career, she directed North American sales and services across several executive positions since 2013. Prior to that, she directed general management and retail operations at Sears Holdings Corporation until 2013.
She initially began her career as a chemical engineer at Eli Lilly and Company. Later, she developed financial and M&A expertise at PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited.

In terms of education, Merriwether earned an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.
She currently serves as an independent director on the board of Weyerhaeuser Company. Today, Arrow Electronics continues to deliver essential technology engineering solutions to leading worldwide manufacturers.
