Vercel announced a major leadership addition to strengthen its corporate governance. The agentic infrastructure platform has appointed industry veteran Amit Agarwal to its board of directors. Agarwal is currently the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Template Labs. He also brings 25 years of valuable experience in enterprise software to this new role.
Agarwal previously spent 13 years scaling operations at Datadog. He initially joined Datadog as Chief Product Officer back in 2012. Later, he stepped up as President in 2022 to guide global expansion. During his long tenure, he helped steer Datadog through its successful 2019 IPO. He ultimately expanded revenue at Datadog past $2.5 billion annually. Currently, he maintains a seat on the board at Datadog.
“Amit scaled a developer product into an enterprise standard without losing the customer obsession that made it work,” said Guillermo Rauch, founder and CEO of Vercel. “There are few operators in the world with his depth of product insight. We’re fortunate to have his dual perspective as a board member and as a founder building on our platform.”
Consequently, this strategic board appointment arrives during a period of rapid financial momentum. Vercel expanded from frontend hosting into full-stack infrastructure for AI developers. Thanks to strong enterprise adoption, the company crossed $500 million in run-rate revenue recently.
“Vercel has done something incumbents rarely do. Rather than being displaced by the AI wave, it evolved into the agentic infrastructure that many AI-native builders reach for first,” said Agarwal. “I look forward to supporting the team as they take a platform developers already love and build it into a generational company.”
Meanwhile, Agarwal joins several prominent technology leaders on the Vercel board. These distinguished directors include Mitchell Hashimoto, Susan St. Ledger, and Steffan Tomlinson. Together, they support Vercel in delivering high-speed cloud infrastructure for modern developers worldwide.
Accelerating Enterprise Cloud Innovation
Vercel is also continuing to encourage creativity across its agentic workflow tooling. The engineering team is regularly releasing critical updates for autonomous software development. Therefore, companies are moving complex workloads to Vercel to improve developer velocity and deployment security.
Finally, industry analysts view this board expansion as a big milestone for enterprise cloud adoption. Vercel is mobilizing the best executive talent to build the most advanced AI infrastructure to entrench its market dominance. This puts the platform in a unique position to power the next generation of cloud engineering.
