Corteva Unveils Board of Directors for Vylor Advanced Seed and Genetics Spin-Off

Corteva

Corteva Inc. announced the Vylor Board of Directors for Vylor Inc., its future publicly traded advanced seed and genetics company. The Vylor Board of Directors will officially take charge after the planned separation, which remains on track for the fourth quarter of 2026. The announcement marks another important milestone as Corteva prepares the business for independent operations.

Karen Grimes will serve as Independent Chair of the board. She joined Corteva’s board in March 2021. Previously, she worked as senior managing director, partner, and equity portfolio manager at Wellington Management Company LLP. Earlier in her career, she served as a field engineer at IBM after completing three years in the U.S. Army. In addition, she has served on the board of Toll Brothers, Inc. since 2019.

Board to Guide Future Growth Strategy

The board appointments will become effective once the separation closes. Meanwhile, Corteva continues its search for at least one additional director.

“Vylor will be a company dedicated to leveraging its expertise in advanced seed and genetics to help farmers feed and fuel the world. I look forward to working with my fellow directors as well as the Vylor senior management team to accelerate the company’s growth and impact – and continue to deliver results for shareholders,” said Grimes.

The announced directors include Victor Aguilar of The Procter & Gamble Company, Rajesh “Raj” Kalathur, former executive at Deere & Company, Marcos Lutz, former CEO of Ultrapar Participações S.A., Chuck Magro, future CEO of Vylor, Johannes “Jannie” J. Oosthuizen of Merck & Co., Inc., and Kerry Preete, former executive vice president and chief strategy officer at Monsanto Company.

Furthermore, Vylor plans to build its innovation strategy around elite germplasm and advanced biotechnology. The company will strengthen its portfolio through gene editing and molecular breeding. It also intends to expand into additional row crops while exploring new market opportunities. Moreover, Vylor will scale innovation through its established commercial network and an expanded licensing business.
