Evercore announced major leadership appointments today. The Board of Directors appointed Nigel Dawn and Naveen Nataraj as Co-Presidents, effective January 1, 2027. As such, both executives will report directly to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John S. Weinberg.
Improving Senior Leadership and U.S. Investment Banking
In addition, Weinberg will continue to head the company for another three years at least. This new executive hierarchy will improve Evercore as the firm increases its capability in the provision of global financial services.
In their new executive roles, Dawn and Nataraj will collaborate closely with founder Roger C. Altman. Together, the team will execute long-term strategic growth plans while preserving firm culture and client commitments.
Additionally, Daniel Mendelow will become the sole Head of U.S. Investment Banking. Meanwhile, Jason Sobol will step into the role of Chairman of U.S. Investment Banking. Sobol will work alongside Eduardo Mestre, who remains Chairman of Global Investment Banking.
John S. Weinberg said, “As Evercore has grown and evolved, we see increased opportunities to bring value for our clients. This leadership structure will help us drive our strategy more effectively while reinforcing our commitment to clients, our values and our culture. Nigel and Naveen are accomplished leaders who will make important contributions in these roles. I am excited to continue working with them and with our global senior leadership.”
Senior leaders strongly emphasized the value of expanding management depth during this period of growth.
Roger C. Altman said, “Evercore is a different firm today, even compared with three years ago. It is much larger, broader and more global, and is competitively stronger. The firm will benefit from additional management resources to support John, and today’s announcement reflects that need. I could not have greater confidence in Nigel and Naveen and look forward to working with them in their new roles. Moreover, John’s leadership, judgment and deep commitment to our people and clients have been, and will continue to be, central to what we are building.”
Deepening Advisory Strengths Across Global Markets
Dawn previously built and led the firm’s global Private Capital Advisory business across America, Europe, and Asia. Moving forward, he will serve as Chairman of Private Capital Advisory while advising key institutional clients.
Meanwhile, Nataraj has advised top clients on major complex transactions across diverse industry sectors throughout his tenure. He will continue actively guiding key corporate clients while steering the broader investment banking franchise.
Ultimately, these strategic leadership moves position Evercore to deliver superior long-term value for international clients and shareholders.
