Amplitude Names Statsig Founder Vijaye Raji to Board of Directors

Amplitude

Amplitude recently announced a major corporate leadership update to drive data experimentation forward. The company officially appointed Statsig founder Vijaye Raji to its Board of Directors. Presently, Raji holds the position of CTO of Applications at OpenAI. On the other hand, Amplitude keeps on incorporating the features, brand, and vision of the product offered by Statsig. Such strategic alignment will help international companies understand the behavior of their clients fast. As a result, it will be easy to carry out experiments with a high level of assurance when creating innovative experiences of digital products.

Experimentation and Statistical Tools for Scaling

Vijaye Raji first created Statsig in 2021 to ensure that everybody had access to data across all software teams in the world. The idea came to him when he worked with Facebook’s internal infrastructure. Moreover, Statsig created complex statistical engines that include variance reduction and sequential testing. Major modern tech companies like Figma, Notion, and Brex adopted the technology. Currently, Amplitude carries this mission forward alongside Statsig’s original engineering foundation.

“Vijaye built the world’s best experimentation platform, and I’m thrilled to have him on our board,” said Spenser Skates, CEO and co-founder of Amplitude. “As more teams turn to experimentation to figure out what works, we’re building the future of Amplitude and Statsig together to help them ship better products.”

A Track Record of Platform Engineering Success

Vijaye Raji brings extensive engineering leadership experience to his new role on the board. Prior to Statsig, he launched his career at Microsoft working on core software developer tools. Today, he leads foundational data, growth, and engineering initiatives at OpenAI. Therefore, Amplitude expects his guidance to accelerate platform scaling and statistical research.

“I started Statsig to help teams use data and experimentation to build better products,” said Raji. “I’m excited to help carry that mission forward with Spenser and the board as Amplitude and Statsig enter this next chapter together. Building software faster only matters if you’re building the right things and creating more value for your customers. Together, Amplitude and Statsig can help more teams understand what customers need, test their ideas, and measure whether what they build makes a difference.”
