Janus Henderson Investors today announced two major senior investment appointments. These executive additions will further strengthen the firm’s global equities franchise.
Helen Jewell joins Janus Henderson as Head of EMEA & Asia Pacific Equities on December 1, 2026. She will work out of the London office. Meanwhile, Shilpee Raina joins as Lead Portfolio Manager for major growth funds on January 1, 2027. She will manage the Janus Henderson Forty Fund and the Transformational Growth ETF (JXX). Shilpee will be based in New York alongside Portfolio Manager Brian Recht.
These hires follow key executive departures at the firm. Helen succeeds Lucas Klein, who is retiring after nearly three decades in financial services. Shilpee replaces Nick Schommer, who leaves after 13 years with the business. Consequently, both outgoing leaders received gratitude for their dedication and client service.
Helen joins Janus Henderson from BlackRock, where she served as International CIO of Fundamental Equities. She brings extensive leadership experience in overseeing investment processes, research, and talent. Previously, Helen spent ten years at Goldman Sachs within Global Investment Research. She started her career in Utilities Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank.
Enhancing Portfolio Management and Fundamental Research
Similarly, Shilpee brings over two decades of large-cap equity experience to Janus Henderson. She previously served as Co-Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Her past work covers consumer sector research across core and value funds. At Janus Henderson, Shilpee and Brian Recht will maintain high-conviction investment strategies.
Meanwhile, Ed Su will remain Portfolio Manager of the Janus Henderson Contrarian Fund. The incoming leaders will collaborate with Lucas and Nick to ensure smooth operational transitions.
