DAZN announced three major executive appointments today to accelerate profitable growth. The company appointed Patrick Delany as Chief Operating Officer based in London. Meanwhile, Alex Gersh joins DAZN as Chief Financial Officer. Additionally, former CFO Darren Waterman takes on the newly created role of Chief Business Officer. All three executives report directly to Chief Executive Officer Shay Segev with immediate effect.
These executive changes follow a period of strong performance momentum for DAZN in recent quarters. In 2025, the Foxtel Group was acquired, and the platform turned a profit for the first time. The network also brought the FIFA Club World Cup to hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide. In 2026, DAZN continued to expand its platform by acquiring ViewLift and EverPass. The organization also added FIFA+ and expanded its regional sports footprint across the U.S.
Delany has been appointed COO and will oversee the day-to-day operations and trading performance of DAZN. He is responsible for pricing, packaging, rights renewals, content production and advertising revenues. Delany was the former CEO of Foxtel Group and Fox Sports Australia. He recently signed Foxtel up to join DAZN, creating DAZN Australia.
Better Strategic Business Development and Financial Control
The new CFO, Alex Gersh, brings 25 years of international financial experience in the sports and digital media industries. Gersh was CFO at Sportradar, where he led a successful listing on NASDAQ. He was also responsible for financial operations at Betfair and Paddy Power Betfair. Now Gersh is in charge of financial strategy, capital allocation, and group performance across all global markets.
Simultaneously, Darren Waterman steps into the Chief Business Officer role to spearhead corporate development and global distribution. Waterman previously managed finance functions as CFO starting in 2022, helping the enterprise reach key profitability goals.
Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO, said: “DAZN is entering an exciting new chapter of profitable growth, during which we will build on the strong momentum we have created in the business. Our built-for-sport platform is now available in more than 200 markets, connecting millions of fans across the world to the sports they love through immersive experiences that go far beyond broadcast. The stage is set for our strengthened leadership team to intensify our mission to build the world’s best sports entertainment platform for fans, rights holders and partners.”
Finally, DAZN confirmed that DACH region CEO Alice Mascia will step down at year-end. Felix Krause returns immediately as Deputy CEO, DACH, and will become regional CEO on January 1, 2027.
