Ameresco

Ameresco announced a major addition to its executive governance team. The company named industry pioneer Brian Cox to its board of directors. Consequently, the business aims to accelerate its expansion across modern power infrastructure projects. Mr. Cox brings over twenty years of direct executive leadership in data center energy infrastructure.

Strategic Executive Governance and Industry Expansion

Mr. Cox previously founded STACK Infrastructure and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, STACK became a leading global provider of hyperscale digital power facilities. His broad operational experience will be used by the firm in advancing energy infrastructure solutions across the world. Mr. Cox has also previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Cologix.

Meanwhile, he also held major executive leadership roles at Tempo Financial Holdings and KPMG LLP. Currently, Mr. Cox sits on the boards of directors at STACK and Gigabit Fiber. Moreover, he earned a business administration degree from TCU and an MBA from Colorado. Furthermore, he is a Certified Public Accountant and served as an officer in the United States Army Reserve.

Ameresco leadership expects his appointment to drive long-term strategic growth and market resilience.

“We are pleased to welcome Brian to Ameresco’s Board of Directors,” said George Sakellaris, Chief Executive Officer of Ameresco. “Brian’s extensive experience building and scaling complex infrastructure platforms, together with his capital markets and strategic leadership experience, will provide valuable perspective as Ameresco continues to deliver energy infrastructure solutions that help meet customers’ growing power demands and infrastructure modernization needs.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Cox expressed enthusiasm regarding his new role and the company’s expanding market vision.

“I am honored to join Ameresco’s Board of Directors,” said Brian Cox. “The convergence of growing energy demand, digital infrastructure expansion, and the need for resilient power solutions is creating significant opportunities across the energy sector. Ameresco has established itself as a trusted partner in helping organizations strengthen energy reliability and deploy critical power infrastructure. I look forward to working with my fellow directors and the management team to support the company’s continued growth and help create long-term value for customers, shareholders, and other stakeholders.”

This strategic governance update further reinforces Ameresco’s commitment to scale sustainable power infrastructure platforms. The company continuously improves its ability to serve commercial and public sector customers around the world. Thus, executive leadership expects Mr. Cox to play a key role in driving future investments.

Rapid growth in data center energy infrastructure also requires more robust, scalable clean power systems. Ameresco uses advanced microgrids, battery storage and smart power grids to meet these demands. This means that the company is effectively closing the gap between digital infrastructure expansion and energy efficiency.

Industry analysts, meanwhile, say the appointment is a timely move to build long-term shareholder value. Mr. Cox will become a Class III director on the board effective August 1, 2026. His term will run through the company’s annual stockholders meeting in 2028.

Consequently, Ameresco is continuing to build on its position as a leading provider of resilient power solutions. The executive team remains focused on expanding operational capabilities in key geographic markets. This allows shareholders to expect consistent operational delivery and sustainable long-term growth.
