GE HealthCare officially named William Grogan as Chief Financial Officer today. As such, Grogan will take on his executive financial leadership responsibilities on September 14, 2026.
He assumes the position previously held by Jay Saccaro, who recently moved to another industry. George Newcomb, interim chief financial officer, will retain his current role and responsibilities as controller and chief accounting officer.
Grogan joins GE HealthCare from water solutions provider Xylem Inc., a $9 billion company. He has been Executive Vise President and CFO since 2023, where he has successfully expanded margins and simplified global operations.
Additionally, under his financial direction, Xylem integrated a $7.5 billion acquisition while delivering cost synergies early. Furthermore, Grogan previously spent over ten years building financial strategy at IDEX Corporation.
Serving as CFO at IDEX from 2017 to 2023, he helped double market capitalization significantly. Before those roles, he built operational expertise at Walgreens, Crane Co., and Sears Holdings Corp.
“I am excited that Bill will serve as our CFO and help lead our next chapter of growth,” said Peter Arduini, President and CEO, GE HealthCare. “He combines strong financial leadership with an operator’s mindset, grounded in lean business systems and a clear focus on execution. Bill’s capabilities will augment our strong leadership team as we advance our precision care strategy and create long-term value for our colleagues, patients, customers, and shareholders.”
“GE HealthCare’s purpose of creating a world where healthcare has no limits, its commitment to patients, and the opportunity created by this new wave of innovation drew me to the company,” said Grogan. “I am excited to partner with Peter and the leadership team, spend time with our customers, and lead a finance organization that helps turn innovation into profitable growth and long-term value creation.”
Driving Precision Care Strategy and Sustainable Long-Term Value
Beyond his corporate career, Grogan sits on the Board of Directors for Crane NXT. Furthermore, he serves on the Advisory Council for the Girard School of Business at Merrimack College.
He holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College. Consequently, his extensive executive background equips GE HealthCare for its next phase of expansion.
As such, this particular senior management recruitment helps strengthen the position of leadership within the international markets of medical technologies. At the end of the day, GE HealthCare emphasizes its dedication to sustainable shareholder value and innovation for patients worldwide.
