Eaton Appoints Shawn Black as New Global Aerospace President

Eaton officially named Shawn Black as President of its global Aerospace Group today. Therefore, Black took full operational responsibility for leading growth across both commercial and military segments effective August 17, 2026.

He is in a strategic executive role, reporting to Pete Denk, President and Chief Operating Officer, Industrial Sector for Eaton. Black also brings to the organization more than 20 years of distinguished defense and commercial leadership experience.

Before that, he was President of Defense at GKN Aerospace, where he led critical support programs for major global platforms. His executive background also includes President and Chief Executive Officer of Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions.

Before that milestone, Black spent 16 years building operational expertise in many key management roles at DRS Technologies. In particular, he managed strategic initiatives as Vise President and General Manager of Electro Optical and Infrared Systems. 

Furthermore, he began his professional career serving as a military officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. Academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.
