AECOM today announced the strategic appointment of Manav Kumar as Chief Legal Officer. Mr. Kumar takes over from David Gan, who moves on to become a Senior Advisor before retiring in 2027. In his new post, Mr. Kumar will be responsible for overseeing all legal affairs around the world. Moreover, he continues his key executive duties as Corporate Secretary across the entire enterprise. Modern corporate governance requires strong regulatory oversight to manage large-scale international projects effectively. Consequently, AECOM relies on experienced internal leaders to guide complex infrastructure initiatives through evolving legal landscapes.

Extensive Enterprise and Public Policy Background
Mr. Kumar currently serves as Corporate General Counsel and Global Head of Public Affairs for AECOM. Throughout his career, he held various senior roles spanning legal, government relations, and strategic operations. Since joining AECOM in 2017, he has served as a primary advisor on major business initiatives. Firstly, he was able to accumulate extensive policy knowledge when he worked as Deputy Counsel to the Mayor of Los Angeles. Besides, he was involved in the position of Chief Olympics Officer in the process of obtaining the rights for the 2028 Olympic Games for the city.
Leadership Change and Future Strategies
However, David Gan is ready to finish his legal career, which has lasted more than twenty years of corporate work. In particular, Mr. Gan considerably improved the internal risk management structure in the multinational company. Moreover, he created an excellent legal team that is able to manage global activities.
The effective changeover becomes official on October 3, 2026. Therefore, both of them will work very actively during the following months to ensure absolute continuity. Such a strategic changeover helps AECOM to strengthen its long-term framework in terms of its international development.
