Tacton Selects Former IFS Executive Merlin Knott as Chief Commercial Officer to Accelerate Global Growth and Scale Beyond CPQ

Tacton

Tacton today announced the strategic appointment of Merlin Knott as Chief Commercial Officer. Consequently, Knott will direct the global commercial organization across marketing, sales, and pre-sales teams. Furthermore, he will align market strategies to deliver increased value to manufacturing customers worldwide.

Knott brings decades of high-level experience building and scaling commercial organizations across enterprise software markets. Previously, he held senior executive leadership positions at IFS. During his tenure at IFS, he led global channel operations as President of Enterprise Service Management. Under his leadership, the partner ecosystem grew to generate over 40 percent of total software license revenue. Additionally, Knott held key commercial leadership positions at SAP, Cura Software, and MicroStrategy earlier in his career.

“Merlin brings the combination of global commercial leadership, enterprise software experience, and proven ability to scale organizations, which will fuel Tacton’s next phase of growth,” said Klaus Andersen, Chief Executive Officer of Tacton. “Under Merlin’s leadership, we will strengthen how we go to market, continue to drive value to our customers, and capitalize on the significant opportunity ahead of us.”

Strategic Portfolio Expansion Beyond Traditional CPQ

Meanwhile, this executive appointment comes as Tacton actively expands beyond standard CPQ tools with its Connected Suite. Therefore, the integrated platform connects how manufacturers define, sell, and deliver complex product configurations. As manufacturers modernize complex commercial workflows, Tacton continues investing heavily in artificial intelligence innovations and go-to-market resources across North America and EMEA.

“Tacton has a tremendous opportunity to build on its leadership in complex manufacturing and bring even greater value to customers as the company expands its vision beyond CPQ,” said Knott. “What excites me most is the opportunity to bring our commercial teams together around a shared strategy connecting how we create demand, engage customers, demonstrate value and ultimately help manufacturers transform how they sell and deliver highly configurable products. I’m looking forward to working with the team to accelerate Tacton’s next phase of growth.”

In his new role as Chief Commercial Officer, Knott will establish a unified commercial strategy for Tacton. As a result, his team will accelerate customer acquisition, regional expansion, and strategic software partnerships. Ultimately, this key leadership hire reinforces Tacton’s commitment of Tacton to scale its enterprise technology footprint globally.
