Snap Inc. announced that it has appointed Ronan Harris as its new chief commercial officer. Harris will lead Snap’s global advertising sales and go-to-market organization. He’ll be responsible for increasing advertising revenue and strengthening relationships with advertisers and agencies. Harris has deep experience in the advertising industry and a proven track record at Snap. He has been running Snap’s business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for nearly four years.
During his time Harris helped deliver consistent growth across the European market. There were 10 consecutive quarters of double-digit revenue growth year-over-year in Europe through Q2 2026. Moreover, the region recorded nearly 40% revenue growth during the first half of 2026. The results underscore Harris’s role in the expansion of Snap’s advertising business in key international markets. Before joining Snap, Harris spent more than 17 years at Google. During this time he was instrumental in growing Google’s advertising business across the EMEA region. Harris most recently served as Vise President and Managing Director for the UK and Ireland. His stint at Google also gave him a better understanding of advertisers and agencies and digital advertising markets.
Harris to Lead Snap’s Global Advertising Strategy
As Chief Commercial Officer, Harris will be responsible for the global advertising sales strategy at Snap. He will also lead the company’s go-to-market organization. The new role puts Harris at the heart of Snap’s advertising growth plans. In addition he will work closely with advertisers and agencies in global markets . Snap aims to help more advertisers achieve better results on Snapchat. Harris will therefore concentrate on growing partnerships while advancing the company’s broader advertising goals.
His previous leadership experience provides him with a solid basis for the expanded role. He’s already been working closely with Snap’s commercial operations in key international markets. Snap co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel said Harris’s knowledge of advertising and partner relationships. He also noted Harris’s history of steady growth at Snap.

Ajit Mohan to Leave Snap After Nearly Four Years
Meanwhile, Ajit Mohan has decided to leave Snap after nearly four years with the company. Mohan previously served as Chief Business Officer and President of APAC. During his time at Snap, he contributed to the company’s business and regional leadership efforts. Snap thanked Mohan for his leadership and contributions to the company. The company also wished him success in his future endeavors.
Harris will now take on a wider commercial leadership position at Snap. The appointment follows several quarters of strong growth in the company’s European business. Harris, who has advertising experience at Snap and Google, has a wealth of knowledge to bring to the role. He also has experience leading the major markets across EMEA. Moving ahead, Harris will head Snap’s global advertising sales organization. He will also try to deepen relations with advertisers and agencies.
Snap said the new leadership structure is expected to bolster its advertising revenue strategy. The company also plans to continue to build out advertising opportunities on Snapchat.
