Turing Appoints Ece Kamar as Chief Technology Officer

Turing, the superintelligence accelerator driving economic progress from artificial intelligence, named Ece Kamar as Chief Technology Officer today.

In her new role, Kamar leads technology and research strategy across Turing’s frontier AI and enterprise AI businesses. Furthermore, she will sharpen the connection between frontier lab requirements and enterprise implementation.

Ece Kamar’s Extensive Background at Microsoft

Kamar joins Turing after 16 years at Microsoft. Most recently, she served as Corporate Vice President leading the AI Frontiers Lab at Microsoft Research.

In that position, Kamar led a non-geographical, mission-focused lab. The lab explores foundation model innovations alongside platform capabilities. Consequently, her team pushed the boundaries of AI capabilities, efficiency, and control.

Additionally, Kamar drove research in technologies ranging from base models to agentic systems. She built vital bridges between research teams and product units. Moreover, she delivered cutting-edge technology and high-performing teams to advance corporate goals.

Scientifically, Kamar holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Harvard University. Previously, she earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from Sabanci University.

Second, Turing helps Fortune 500 companies deploy agentic AI systems with complete sovereignty and governance.

As CTO, Kamar shapes the research agenda across both divisions. Therefore, she will oversee new initiatives exploring how AI agents collaborate with each other and human teams.
