Infravision has appointed veteran transmission construction leader Paul Gillespie as Director of Transmission Solutions. The company continues to transform power grid construction using advanced drone-enabled systems.
In his new role, Gillespie will lead the U.S. 765 kV transmission construction program. He will oversee solution development, customer engagement, project planning, constructability reviews, and workforce training programs. Furthermore, he will guide a global team of over 150 professionals. Military veterans hold key positions across engineering, avionics, field operations, and project management in this workforce.
Consequently, this strategic appointment accelerates the global deployment of drone and robotic systems for overhead transmission lines.

Leveraging Decades of Global Expertise to Address Power Grid Demand
Gillespie brings over 30 years of international experience managing complex transmission projects ranging from 132 kV to 765 kV. Before joining Infravision, he served as Construction Manager at Cormorant Utility Services (PowerTel) in Ontario, Canada. During his five-year tenure, he executed major transmission infrastructure projects for utilities, renewable energy developers, and industrial clients.
Gillespie started his career as a transmission linesman before moving into senior management. He led cross-functional teams of over 100 people in Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and India. He also supported planning, deployment and training for India’s 765 kV network.
Transmission construction is under way at a historic rate as power demand increases in the United States. High-capacity lines, especially at the 765 kV level, continue to be critical for grid modernization. But most of the U.S. 765-kV infrastructure dates from the 1960s and 1970s. The US has not completed a major 765 kV project in the last 25 years. This has led to a shortage of specialized technical skills.
More than 9,000 miles of new U.S. 765 kV projects are proposed for completion over the next decade. Gillespie’s international 765 kV construction experience directly addresses this critical resource gap. His expertise in aerial robotics equips Infravision to support modern utility demands.
Finally, Gillespie joins an expanding executive leadership team at Infravision. The company recently secured a $91 million Series B funding round led by GIC. The firm also appointed former SpaceX engineer Frank Tybor as Chief Technology Officer to advance its robotics hardware platform. Through these investments, Infravision strengthens its position in next-generation grid infrastructure.
