Sierra Space, a top defense tech firm working on key national missions and the development of space security, has named Dan Jablonsky as its chief executive officer, effective from March 2, 2026. The appointment of the new leadership is set to take the firm into its next phase of growth in the areas of national security, defense, civil, and commercial space industries globally. Fatih Ozmen, the founder of the firm who acted as the interim chief executive officer, will continue to be associated with the firm as the chair of the board.
Background and Experience of the New Leadership
Dan Jablonsky has had many years of experience as a leader in the aerospace, defense, and commercial space technology industry. Most recently, he served as chair and chief executive officer at Ursa Major Technologies, Inc. Previously, he led Maxar Technologies as CEO, president, and board member during a period of operational transformation. Earlier in his career, he served as president of DigitalGlobe, overseeing defense and commercial space business expansion. He also currently serves on the boards of BWX Technologies and the National Intelligence University Foundation.

Military Service and Academic Credentials
Jablonsky began his professional journey as a surface warfare officer and nuclear engineer in the U.S. Navy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy. Additionally, he obtained a law degree from the University of Washington, strengthening his strategic and legal expertise.
