Jerry Bessette

Resecurity announced a major strategic executive move today. The cybersecurity leader appointed Jerry Bessette to its Advisory Board as Senior Advisor. Resecurity delivers intelligence and cybersecurity protection to Fortune 100 enterprises and government agencies worldwide.

Mr. Bessette brings over thirty years of deep experience across federal law enforcement, national security, and digital investigations. His extensive career includes twenty-four years within the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Additionally, he held major leadership roles across private sector cybersecurity firms. During his tenure at the FBI, he served as a special agent and executive manager. Consequently, he directed complex technical operations for the national cyber incident response team.

Before his FBI career, he served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the Virginia Military Institute. Moreover, he earned professional credentials as a Certified Information Security Manager and Certified Chief Information Security Officer.

During his Bureau service, he led high-profile national security cases. Notably, he directed the FBI investigation into the 2014 cyberattack against Sony Pictures Entertainment. He also spearheaded the investigation into the major U.S. Postal Service data breach. Furthermore, he shaped national strategy to counter foreign computer intrusions.

Strengthening Private Sector Incident Response and Defense

After government service, he expanded his cybersecurity work across the private sector. He served as Managing Director at Ankura Consulting as an outsourced CISO. Later, he joined Booz Allen Hamilton as Senior Vice President. In that role, he led commercial incident response teams for Fortune 500 corporations. Subsequently, he managed ransomware negotiations and post-incident recovery as Chief Operating Officer for top security firms.

“Jerry brings a rare combination of operational cyber experience, investigative leadership, and understanding of how organizations respond when serious incidents occur,” said Shawn Loveland, CEO of Resecurity. “His experience at the FBI and across the private sector will add significant depth to our Advisory Board. As Resecurity continues to work with enterprises, government agencies, and national security organizations, his perspective on incident response, cyber investigations, and resilience will be extremely valuable.”

In his role as Senior Advisor, Mr. Bessette will guide corporate strategy across risk management and threat defense. Furthermore, his appointment as Senior Advisor reinforces Resecurity’s Advisory Board, which features experts from intelligence, defense, and government.

“Cybersecurity has always been about more than technology. It is about understanding the adversary, preparing organizations before an incident occurs, and making the right decisions when the situation becomes critical,” said Jerry Bessette, Senior Advisor at Resecurity. “Resecurity has built strong capabilities in cyber threat intelligence, investigations, and digital risk, and I look forward to contributing my experience to the team and supporting its work with organizations facing increasingly complex cyber threats.”

Finally, naming a seasoned Senior Advisor supports Resecurity’s global expansion across threat intelligence, fraud prevention, and digital risk management.
