Milliman Appoints Jim Fulton as New Chief Executive Officer

Milliman

Milliman announced that Jim Fulton will take over as Chief Executive Officer. He will formally assume the top leadership position this October. Fulton brings extensive financial expertise to his new appointment.

Specifically, he has served as Chief Financial Officer at Milliman since 2015. During his 11-year tenure as CFO, he spearheaded key organic growth initiatives and firm acquisitions. His leadership reflects the structural transition of Milliman from a traditional actuarial firm into a multidisciplinary consultancy. Today, the firm provides global risk management, advanced data analytics, and modern technology solutions.

Furthermore, Fulton possesses over three decades of professional experience as a Certified Public Accountant. He launched his career at PwC, where he spent 12 years in assurance practice. Afterwards, he served as CFO and partner at Crowe between 2002 and 2011. Later, he helped build tech startups at the University of Notre Dame’s Innovation Park. He graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington.

Executive Leadership Transition and Strategic Growth

Moreover, Fulton succeeds Dermot Corry, who is retiring after a distinguished 44-year career. Corry completed a successful five-year term as CEO, overseeing nine strategic acquisitions during his tenure. These acquisitions expanded the data resources and analytical capabilities of Milliman worldwide. Consequently, Fulton will build on this strong foundation to accelerate future digital innovations.

“Jim Fulton is the ideal leader as Milliman continues to grow and change in this complex and evolving environment,” said Milliman Chair Bret Linton. “Jim knows Milliman and has been integral in our growth over the last decade. He lives our mission of serving our clients to protect the health and financial well-being of people everywhere.”

“Milliman continues to be the trusted advisor to our clients, who look to us for deep expertise and data-driven solutions,” said Jim Fulton. “In the 11 years I’ve served as the firm’s financial leader I’ve come to know Milliman’s remarkable people. I’ve seen how our talent and commitment to clients continue to be our differentiator. I’m looking forward to helping shape Milliman’s future as we continue to grow and evolve.”

“Milliman is a unique organization, with a commitment to independence and quality that attracts brilliant minds and cultivates innovation,” said Dermot Corry. “It has been an honor to serve as CEO of Milliman. I couldn’t be more excited for Jim as he assumes the CEO role. I wish him the best and know that Milliman will be in good hands.”

Therefore, this planned executive transition positions Milliman for continued leadership in corporate consulting.
