Markel trade credit leadership strategy progresses with Sebastian Rice assuming an international position. Markel International Insurance has appointed him as Head of Global Development Trade Credit. This development reinforces the Markel trade credit leadership strategy internationally.
He will report directly to Phil Amlot, who is the Global Head of Trade Credit International. He will work closely with him to provide solution-oriented underwriting strategies. Additionally, he will tailor products to meet the changing needs of clients. These include risk exposures resulting from changes in geopolitics and supply chains.
Commenting on the appointment, Amlot said: “Markel International’s success and sustained growth are driven by colleagues like Seb, who are committed to working alongside our clients to deliver tailored solutions. He takes the time to understand client needs and responds with precision, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach.“
Expanding Global Trade Credit Leadership
Furthermore, Rice will manage a network of Trade Credit underwriters all over the world. The teams will run in places like New York, Singapore, Dubai, and London. As such, he will ensure that operations are aligned with partner relations. Moreover, he will work on business development in the UK and Europe. Having been with Markel, Rice has made important contributions. He was involved in coming up with the Non-Cancellable Limits product. This is a product that ensures that the client is sure of the payment risks.
Rice added: “I’m proud of the profitable growth we’ve achieved in the London market and continental Europe since joining Markel. In a period defined by shifting supply chains and evolving economic conditions, we’ve focused on being a consistent and reliable partner for our brokers and clients.
