M&T Bank Corporation announced the appointment of Jerry Jacobs Jr. to its Board of Directors, effective June 16, 2026.
The company also elected Jerry Jacobs Jr. to the Board of Directors of M&T Bank, its principal banking subsidiary. The appointment strengthens the board with extensive leadership and operational experience.
Delaware North Leadership Adds Industry Expertise
Jacobs serves as chief executive officer of Delaware North, a global hospitality and entertainment company. The organization operates across sports venues, parks, gaming, hotels, and food service businesses.
He shares the chief executive officer role with his brothers, Lou and Charlie. In addition, he serves as an alternate governor to the Boston Bruins.
Jacobs joined Delaware North in 1986. Since then, he has held several senior leadership positions across the organization. He previously led the company’s Sportservice division before becoming chief executive officer in 2015.
Currently, he oversees the company’s strategy, governance, and financial performance. Furthermore, he remains actively involved in civic and nonprofit organizations.
He serves as chair of the UB Council. Additionally, he is a member of the U.S. Travel Association CEO Roundtable and a board member of The Corps Network.
“Jerry brings a strong track record of leadership and operational execution, along with deep ties to Western New York and a clear commitment to the people and places he serves,” said René Jones, M&T chairman and chief executive officer. “His experience leading a complex, customer-centric organization will strengthen the perspectives represented in our boardroom.”

Jacobs earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. He also received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
