Hadron Energy Boosts Leadership by Naming Olivia Hand as Head of Reactor Design and Tim Bussey as Vice President of Business Development

Hadron Energy

Hadron Energy, Inc. (“Hadron”), a pioneer in light-water micro-modular reactor (MMR) technology, has welcomed two senior executives to its leadership team. The company named Olivia Hand, P.E., as Head of Reactor Design, and Tim Bussey as Vice President of Business Development.

In her new role, Olivia Hand brings eighteen years of experience in nuclear system design and thermal-hydraulic analysis. Also, in component qualification across the U.S. advanced reactor industry. She previously served at TerraPower as Lead Principal Engineer on the Natrium intermediate heat exchanger component design. Earlier, she spent over a decade at NuScale Power developing the NPM-160 and NPM-20 small modular reactor designs. At Hadron, she will lead the design and analysis of all reactor systems and components. This is for the company’s flagship MMR, the 10 MWe “Halo”, a factory-fabricated, transportable light-water reactor with a ten-year core.

Meanwhile, Tim Bussey brings more than twenty years of experience in nuclear operations, large-scale energy infrastructure, and data centre facility management. Prior to joining Hadron, he managed operations for a hyperscale data-centre campus at Meta Platforms, Inc. He earlier served in the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). In his new capacity, he will direct strategic partnerships and customer engagement. Also, direct market expansion for Hadron, aligning the company’s deployment strategy with growing demand for zero-carbon, high-reliability power across industries, data-centres, and defence installations.

This dual appointment comes as Hadron advances toward a definitive business combination agreement with GigCapital7 Corp., valuing the combined entity at approximately US $1.2 billion. The move underscores Hadron’s goal to become the first publicly traded light-water micro-modular reactor company in the U.S.

For stakeholders and investors, these leadership additions signal strong momentum and strategic focus as Hadron prepares for deployment, licensing, and commercial expansion of its micro-modular reactors. The experience and industry credibility of Hand and Bussey strengthen Hadron’s engineering depth and market readiness. As the nuclear industry undergoes a renaissance, the company appears well-positioned for the shift toward scalable, transportable nuclear energy solutions.
