GitLab, the DevSecOps pioneer, has appointed Siva Padisetty as its Chief Technology Officer. The move comes as GitLab continues to grow its intelligent software platform. The change will occur on January 15, 2026. Upon his new appointment, Padisetty will be in charge of the technical vision of GitLab. Moreover, he shall be in charge of the software engineering, operations, as well as support teams. Additionally, he shall manage the product development, as well as its delivery, within the extensive portfolio of the company. Sabrina Farmer, who was leaving GitLab, shall act as an advisor until January 31.

Padisetty Brings Decades of Engineering Expertise
Padisetty also brings over 20 years of experience developing distributed systems for large tech companies. Prior to joining GitLab, he was CTO at New Relic. At New Relic, he refactored existing applications into highly scalable cloud-based solutions. Contributed to increasing the company to over $1 billion in annual revenue. Other experiences include senior roles at Amazon Web Services and Microsoft. GitLab CEO Bill Staples emphasized Padisetty’s strong engineering expertise & clear vision for driving innovation and advancing modern software delivery practices.
