CDK Global Names Enterprise Tech Veteran Sudhakar Ramakrishna as President and CEO

CDK Global

CDK Global today announced the appointment of Sudhakar Ramakrishna as its new President and CEO. Additionally, he joins the company board of directors, effective October 5. Ramakrishna succeeds Brian MacDonald, who will retire from his executive post. Meanwhile, MacDonald will transition into a senior strategic advisor role for Brookfield and CDK Global.

Notably, Ramakrishna brings decades of proven software leadership to CDK Global. He previously served as President and CEO of SolarWinds. Before that, he led Pulse Secure and held senior executive roles at Citrix, Polycom, and Motorola. Furthermore, his expertise spans cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and enterprise networking.

“We are grateful to Brian for his leadership and the lasting impact he has had on CDK. He returned to the company at an important moment and led a multi-year transformation that strengthened CDK’s strategy, product roadmap and financial foundation,” said Doug Bayerd, managing partner in Brookfield’s Private Equity Group and director of CDK’s board of directors. “Sudhakar is the right leader to build on that foundation. His experience leading technology organizations, scaling innovation and commercializing customer-centric products makes him well suited to advance CDK’s momentum and help its customers succeed in a changing automotive landscape.”

“CDK has the people, scale, expertise and product depth to help customers get more from the solutions they rely on to operate their businesses,” said Ramakrishna. “Our opportunity is to deliver more customer value and success through innovation, disciplined execution and reliable delivery. I look forward to spending time with our customers, learning from our teams and partners, and carrying forward our commitment to earning the industry’s trust every day.”

Expanding Automotive Software Capabilities and AI Analytics

Over recent years, CDK Global invested more than $500 million into platform modernizations. Consequently, the company evolved its architecture into an intelligent system of engagement. Today, the platform processes data for over 257 million unique customer profiles across the country. Therefore, this deep data foundation powers modern AI applications and advanced retail analytics.

Also, car dealers require smooth digital processes for handling their day-to-day business activities. Using predictive intelligence within these tools enables CDK Global to improve the performance of the dealers.

Ultimately, Ramakrishna would make use of this massive data architecture for scalable product development. In conclusion, CDK Global further consolidates its strategic position in the automotive software ecosystem.
