Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Amanda Free as President. Bringing over two decades of healthcare, sales and operational strategy experience to support the company’s mission of improving affordability, access and whole-person care across the state.

Professional Experience and Business Leadership

Free was Vice President Operations for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Georgia Commercial Health Benefits division leadership responsibilities. She handled operational sales support and market growth strategy for healthcare services expansion across multiple business functions in Georgia. She added individual and small group sales, account management duties, improving alignment, performance, and operational efficiency across business units. Before Anthem, Free worked at Humana as Market Vice President for Georgia and Louisiana Employer Group healthcare operations leadership. She created strategic plans and built strong community provider partnerships across diverse healthcare delivery systems throughout the United States.

Community Involvement and Future Vision

Throughout her career, Free drives operational discipline, aligns cross-functional teams, and develops high-performing talent. She actively supports the Georgia community through organizations such as The Atlanta Women’s Foundation and its Inspire Atlanta program. Recently, she joined the board of Hope Atlanta and previously served on the University of Georgia Terry College of Business Young Alumni Board. Free maintains longstanding relationships across the employer, broker, and provider landscape throughout the state.
