Airwallex

Airwallex Carolyn Renzin appointment marks a key leadership move to strengthen global compliance operations. Airwallex announced Carolyn Renzin as Chief Regulatory and Compliance Officer. She will operate from New York. Moreover, she will lead the company’s global regulatory and compliance program. The company continues expanding across major international markets.

Furthermore, Airwallex is enhancing its regulated financial products in the United States. Recently, it launched Airwallex Yield through Airwallex Capital US LLC. The firm holds more than 85 licenses globally. These span North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. Therefore, the company is investing heavily in compliance leadership.

In addition, Airwallex plans to increase compliance spending by 70% in 2026. It will also expand its compliance team by nearly 50%. This move supports its growing global presence and regulatory demands.

Strengthening Compliance with AI and Leadership

Moreover, Airwallex integrates advanced AI agents into compliance functions. These tools support KYC, KYB, AML, and transaction monitoring processes. As a result, the system reduces manual bottlenecks. It also delivers consistent preliminary insights. Human analysts can then focus on higher-level decisions with improved accuracy.

Renzin brings more than 25 years of regulatory and compliance experience. Previously, she worked at FanDuel as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. She managed complex regulations during rapid industry growth. Before that, she spent over six years at JPMorgan Chase. There, she worked closely with regulators during post-financial crisis scrutiny.

“Our customers are operating across more markets, moving faster, and adopting AI-driven financial workflows that didn’t exist two years ago,” said Jack Zhang, co-founder and CEO, Airwallex. “As we expand the range of financial products and services we offer globally, that velocity and complexity raises the bar for how we manage risk and compliance. Our customers expect us to set that bar, not just meet it. Carolyn’s experience building compliance programs at scale, across both traditional banking and high-growth technology, is exactly what this moment requires.”

Meanwhile, Jeanette Chan will continue as Chief Legal Officer. She will lead legal strategy and licensing initiatives globally. Together, Chan and Renzin will strengthen regulatory capabilities.

“As Airwallex deepens its presence in markets around the world, our relationships with local regulators are as important as the infrastructure itself,” Renzin said. “I’m joining to enable Airwallex to set new standards of trust in the industry. Together with regulatory collaboration and customer input, we will shape the evolving regulatory standards to design the forefront of what is possible, from real-time cross-border treasury to AI-powered financial operations. The rules of the road for trust in modern banking are being written right now, and Airwallex will be leading the conversation.”
