BARK Welcomes Anya Hamill as Chief Financial Officer

BARK Appoints Anya Hamill as Chief Financial Officer

BARK Inc announced a major executive leadership update. The company appointed industry veteran Anya Hamill as Chief Financial Officer.

Hamill officially begins her duties Sept. 8, 2026. She has more than 20 years of solid financial experience that she brings to the executive role. And she has a strong track record in public consumer packaged goods companies. It is a big moment for the global business with her appointment. She will help grow the company across digital and retail storefronts.

Demonstrated Leadership in Strategic Finance

Prior to this, Hamill has shown excellent CPG financial leadership at a number of fast-growing consumer companies. Most recently, she served as CFO at Laird Superfood (2022-2026). During her tenure, she completely turned around the accounting and finance team. She handled investor relations, capital markets, treasury, and strategic planning. She also managed M&A efforts while dramatically improving operational cash flow. She also improved corporate financial reporting processes tremendously. Hamill also worked closely with executive leadership teams to refine capital allocation strategies.

Previously, Hamill was at the helm of Little Secrets Chocolates from 2018-20. She directed legal, human resources, IT, and accounting departments seamlessly. Furthermore, she secured debt financing and led successful capital-raising rounds. These initiatives scaled the sweet treats brand while improving operating efficiency. Earlier in her career, Hamill held senior roles at WhiteWave Foods. Danone North America eventually acquired WhiteWave Foods following steady expansion. At WhiteWave, she drove aggressive growth campaigns for premium lines like Silk.

Driving Value for Pet Parents and Investors

In her new position, Hamill will report directly to Matt Meeker. Meeker serves as Co-Founder, Executive Chairman, and CEO of BARK Inc. He expressed immense confidence in her ability to scale the company.

“Anya is an important addition to our leadership team as we continue to scale our business and strengthen BARK’s position as the world’s most dog-centric company,” said Mr. Meeker. “Her experience driving business performance at public and private companies, combined with her deep familiarity with consumer packaged goods across digital and retail channels, will be exceptionally beneficial as we continue to grow and deliver value to all of our stockholders. We welcome Anya and her dog, Chachi, to BARK.”

Mr. Meeker added, “Brian Dostie, who has served as Interim Chief Financial Officer over the past year, will continue with the Company in his role as Vice President, Accounting and Controller. I want to thank Brian for his thoughtful leadership and meaningful contributions during this period. He has been, and will continue to be, a valuable partner to BARK.”

“As both a finance leader and a devoted dog person, I’m thrilled to join BARK,” said Ms. Hamill. “What drew me to the Company is its rare combination of a beloved brand, a deep data driven understanding of dogs and their people. I look forward to partnering with Matt and the team to build on BARK’s momentum, scale the business with discipline, and create lasting value for customers and stockholders.”

Positioning BARK for Future Expansion

BARK continues to innovate within the pet retail landscape. The company blends proprietary data with creative product design. Hamill will guide future decisions on capital allocation as CFO. She will also maximize profitability through various sales channels. Meanwhile, Brian Dostie slips smoothly back into his permanent job of controller. And the transition year was a financially stable year under his leadership. BARK is in a strong position to enter its next phase of growth with enhanced organizational momentum. The company still caters to dog lovers across the globe. With Anya Hamill as the Chief Financial Officer, stakeholders expect strong discipline. She has the right background to fit in well with the firm’s strategic long-term vision.
