Upland Software, Inc. announced a key leadership addition today. The enterprise intelligence company appointed Jennifer Simon, CPA, as Chief Financial Officer. The appointment takes effect on August 17, 2026. Simon will oversee the global financial strategy and operations. She will report directly to President and CEO Sean Nathaniel.
Simon brings over two decades of financial management experience in the tech sector. She previously worked at NextGen Healthcare as Senior Vice President of Finance. Before that, she served as Interim Chief Financial Officer at Quest Software. During her tenure at Quest Software, she achieved $120 million in cost reductions. She also improved SaaS reporting metrics and executed critical debt restructuring initiatives. Earlier in her career, she held the role of Chief Financial Officer at Community Impact Newspaper. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Strategic Direction and Financial Execution
In her new role, Simon will direct corporate tax, accounting, and treasury functions. She will also lead investor relations and capital allocation efforts. Upland is sharpening its focus on knowledge, content, and data. Furthermore, the firm continues to invest heavily in AI-driven product innovation. Simon’s expertise will reinforce operational discipline across these active initiatives.
“Since becoming CEO, my focus has been on sharpening our strategy, simplifying how we operate, and strengthening our leadership team,” said Sean Nathaniel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Upland Software. “Jennifer’s appointment marks an important milestone in that work. She brings significant software transformation experience, financial discipline, and a strong operating perspective. I look forward to partnering with her as we build a more focused and agile organization, thoughtfully apply AI across our products and operations, and strengthen business performance.”
“I am excited to join Upland at an important point in its transformation,” said Jennifer Simon. “Upland has strong customer relationships, a portfolio of mission-critical products, and meaningful opportunities ahead. I look forward to partnering with Sean and the leadership team to strengthen execution and create long-term value for our customers and shareholders.”
Simon succeeds Mike Hill, a founding member who is retiring as Chief Financial Officer. Hill worked closely with Nathaniel to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
