Open Text Corporation recently announced a major update to its corporate leadership. The global enterprise AI leader named tech veteran Jill Larsen to its board of directors. Consequently, this high-profile appointment takes effect immediately.

Currently, Ms. Larsen serves as the Chief People Officer at Synopsys, Inc. This publicly traded engineering solutions firm employs over 25,000 workers globally. There, she actively designs large organizational strategy initiatives. Furthermore, she leads workforce culture programs and global talent planning frameworks.

Previously, Larsen directed global digital transformations as a C-suite executive at several tech companies. She managed elite human resources operations at PTC, Medidata, and Cisco Systems. Additionally, she built extensive leadership experience during previous roles at EMC and SunGard.

“We are pleased to welcome Jill to the OpenText Board,” said Tom Jenkins, Chair of the Board, OpenText. “She is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in executive compensation, workforce planning, talent acquisition and organizational design. Having led global workforces at large technology companies, she will be highly valuable in supporting the Board’s governance of our people and culture priorities, in line with shareholder expectations.”

Corporate Governance Leadership Evolution

Larsen holds a communications degree from Boston College. She also earned a master’s degree in human resources management from Emmanuel College. Currently, she maintains active membership in the National Association of Corporate Directors. Therefore, her deep executive background will directly benefit the existing board of directors.

Simultaneously, the firm confirmed that Kristen Ludgate stepped down from the board of directors. Ludgate resigned entirely for personal reasons. Moreover, the departure does not involve any operational disagreements with corporate policies. The firm formally accepted her resignation today.

“On behalf of the leadership team, we thank Kristen for her partnership and contributions to the Board and wish her every success ahead,” said Ayman Antoun, CEO, OpenText. “We’re also pleased to welcome Jill to the Board, whose voice at the table will help drive our next stage of growth.”

Ultimately, this transition positions the OpenText board of directors for sustained market acceleration. The firm thanks Ludgate for her dedicated service. Meanwhile, the new board of directors’ structure will guide upcoming data management ventures.
