NRTC Appoints Curtis Knobloch as Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors at NRTC has announced that Curtis Knobloch will serve as the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer, with his new role becoming effective on June 1.

Board Chairman Lynn Hodges stated, “Curtis’s deep knowledge of NRTC’s technology solutions and his proven track record of delivering for our members make him the ideal leader to guide NRTC into its next chapter.”

Knobloch’s history with the organization dates back to 2000, when he founded Telispire, a Mobile Virtual Network Operator. After NRTC acquired Telispire in 2006, it eventually became NRTC Mobile Solutions. Under his leadership as Chief Executive Officer, the mobile business has seen revenue grow by 79% over the last six years, and the number of end users supported by the team has doubled in just the past two years.

Driving Technology for Rural America

NRTC currently provides technology solutions to 1,500 electric and telephone members to help bring modern advantages to rural communities. As the incoming Chief Executive Officer, Knobloch has already used his industry expertise to explore how cellular connectivity can improve metering solutions and Internet of Things (IoT) applications in rural areas. His vision for the mission-driven organization includes continuing to innovate and improve services that put customers first.  

Looking ahead, Knobloch plans to meet with members at upcoming industry events and visit them at their local offices. The company continues to pursue its core services of Broadband, Smart Grid. Also managed Services to aid members in constructing and optimizing their vital networks. With a team of technology experts in place, the leadership transition aims to ensure the organization stays a valuable partner for rural utilities for years to come.
